CIBC is active in a full range of execution and deal facilitation services accounting for almost 50% of the bond market trading first six months 1999. The company broke a wide range of issues, from treasury and corporate bonds with varying yields and maturities, participating in the placement of four out of seven bond issues throughout 1999

Daily Market Commentary

Our daily market commentary is segregated into three categories:

market details
Highlighting performance of the CIBC Index, the traded volume, alongside an updated technical analysis comment

The News
Articles and extracts from the Egyptian dailies, emphasizing company news likely to affect the performance of stocks and/or sectors.

Tables
Tables indicate the top performers of the day, gainers, losers, traded volumes and traded values. This is in addition of GDR price information and relation to the local stocks

Technical Analysis

Reports
Our Technical Analysis Central Desk (TACD) produces daily and weekly reports indicating main support and resistance levels for different stocks and indices, the direction of the short and long-term trends and recommendations to trade. Reports are transmitted by fax and/or email and published in selected local newspapers.

Semi-annual reports are also published, reviewing and measuring the performance of the recommendations given during the last six months period.

Our desk is currently in the process of publishing intra day reports for the most actively traded stocks and for some indices, these reports will be published on a two to three-hour basis depending mainly on the traded volume during that day.

Product Development

The TACD is also responsible for product development. Products such as the CIBC-100 Index along with the thirteen CIBC sector indices have been established and launched successfully. In the near future the TACD intends to launch other products such as the CIBC Fund index, Volume Index, Bond Index, and several Model Portfolios

Privileged customers have access to the Market Monitor Service provides a graphic and tabular presentation of movements made on any share / index in the market through out the day.

Info Alert Service
Privileged customers have access to the Info Alert service which enables them to define the news / prices / price changes that are most relevant to them and the Info Alert service will search for this news in the background constantly and will automatically alert them when this news is available. Currently the Info Alert service is available through email or fax and we are working on SMS Short Message Service Alerts for our customers through the cellular mobile network. Info Alert services include:

Price Changes Alerts
Price Change Alerts are available for Shares, GDRs and Funds. Request for alerts can be set as:

  • % price change from the opening price for the day
  • a certain price for the share to be achieved through the trading session

Index Changes Alert
Index Change Alerts can be set as:

  • % change from the opening volume/ value for the day
  • a certain number of point for the index to be achieved through the trading session

News Alerts
Alerts privileged customers when there is new news about topics set forth by each customer.

Company News Alerts
Alerts privileged customers when new information is posted regarding a company maintained within the database. Company news that are provided through the Company News Alerts include:

Customer Issue Management
An Interactive application that allows privileged customers to present operational departments with issues. Issues are automatically forwarded to the respective department for appropriate action. Customer Profile Maintenance
