In light of recent legislation of the Egyptian Securitization Law, CIB is willing to structure transactions to securitize portfolios of future receivables, business loans, leases ect.. for corporate clients. Securitization can help investment-grade public and private sector entities to obtain credit ratings higher than sovereign rating and raise funds in international capital markets. The only transaction in the Egyptian Market was the USD 250 million medium term note secured against dollar denominated credit card payments. The transaction was rated AAA from Standard and Poors and Aaa from Moody's; the first incidence where an Egyptian Financial Institution obtained a higher rating than the country's sovereign rating.
