Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) maintains its sponsorship commitment towards the Egyptian Federation of Squash that extends for several years, during which many remarkable achievements were realized, among which the recent First Africa International Masters Squash Championship. It was held under the auspices of CIB-Egypt at the Gezira Sporting Club, with the participation of 90 players from different nationalities.

The championship witnessed a considerable participation of players and distinctive organization, backed by CIB-Egypt, which was a main factor that led to its dazzling success, as stated by Mr. Hany Hamouda, President of the Squash Federation of Africa. He added that the championship was outstandingly successful, especially with the participation of Arab and foreign players, noting that CIB-Egypt is not only a main sponsor, but also a key supporter of the concept of sports tourism in Egypt, which is a national goal at the present time.

From his side, Dr. Hazem El-Zeneiny, Head of Masters Committee at the Egyptian and African Squash Federations, said that CIB-Egypt has been leading a chief role in supporting Squash in Egypt and highlighted that the Bank previously sponsored a very successful championship, which was held seven years ago in Cairo and also under his (i.e El-Zeneiny) supervision. It's worth mentioning that this is not the first tournament in the series of the Bank's sponsorship of the Egyptian Federation of Squash, and specifically its support of the junior players, including the national junior team that was crowned the title of Women's World Junior Championship, backed by CIB-Egypt. The team succeeded to win the title of this championship for the fifth consecutive time since 2003. This is in addition to the Bank's continuous financial support as well as sustaining the Federation's plan to provide the needed requirements and equipment for talented junior players in order to develop their skills and support their participation in the local, regional and international tournaments in addition to the Olympics, which enhances the opportunities for the Egyptian junior squash players to accomplish more achievements and reach honorable and advanced centers in the world rankings.

Mr. Assem Khalifa, Chairman of the Egyptian Squash Federation, declared that CIB-Egypt has contributed to a great extent to the leadership of the Egyptian Squash on the international arena and across all age brackets. Khalifa clarified that the Bank's role stems from its genuine belief in the importance of supporting squash and Egyptian players to excel globally, noting that this is part of the Bank's characterized social responsibility that is implemented at its best and covers various fields.
