In support of promising, talented Egyptian youth, CIB Foundation offered full scholarships to 50 undergraduates of Zewail City of Science and Technology, covering their five-year tuition fees. This new initiative adds on to the series of projects launched by Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) and its Foundation that target young talents across Egypt, provide adequate support to develop their skills and create a new generation of professional calibers.
The 50 students were selected based on their scores in Thanaweya Amma (High School Certificate), from different governorates, including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Monoufia, Souhag, Fayoum, Dakahlia, Kafr Al-Sheikh, Gharbiya, Tanta, Luxor, Suez, Qalubiya, Beheira and Minya.
CIB Foundation’s scholarships did not limit the students’ choices of academic specializations and allowed them to select their preferred majors, which included Nanotechnology Engineering, Space and Communications Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Physics of the Earth and Universe, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, and Biomedical Sciences.
The ultimate objective of these scholarships is more than simply providing a financial support; the Foundation aims to support as well the students’ skills and competences development. In this regard, CIB Foundation works closely with the university administration to create special training programs as per the students’ requests and suggestions. These trainings cover communications skills, leadership skills, project management, mind mapping and many more.
