The Commercial International Bank Foundation recently launched an initiative to explore the artistic talents of children with special needs, entitled “Different Abilities” innovation campaign, in the context of its continuous support to children.
The Foundation held multiple art days for children with special needs from the MOVE Foundation for Children with Cerebral Palsy and the Lujain Association, at the premises of Abdel Moniem El- Sawy Culture Wheel. This initiative, started at the beginning of 2015, is part of the partnership between Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB), the El-Sawy Culture Wheel, and the CIB Foundation to sponsor the cultural and artistic activities that are offered to Egyptian children.
The campaign aims at exploring the unique talents of children with special needs in the field of creative arts, and supports them to further develop their talents. During these events, children are given art materials and encouraged to express themselves freely. With the support of the teams from the special needs centers as well as the staff at the Culture Wheel, the children produced pieces that exceeded the expectations of all parties. As a result, CIB and the CIB Foundation have chosen to acquire all the drawings to be used in the Bank and Foundation’s promotional publications as a way to support the children’s talents and serve as an incentive for them to further develop their talents.
The CIB Foundation, established in 2010 as a non-profit organization, is dedicated to enhancing health and nutritional services for underprivileged children in Egypt. Through the allocation of 1.5% of CIB’s net annual profit, as well as contributions from CIB customers and employees, the Foundation makes valuable contributions in the area of child health and nutrition through various multi-faceted initiatives, including renovating and upgrading hospital infrastructure, purchasing medical equipment, and providing surgical and medicinal treatment to underprivileged children.
Some of CIB Foundation’s most notable projects are the establishment of an intensive care unit (ICU) and Emergency Ward at the Abou El Reesh El Mounira Children’s Hospital, an ICU and pediatric floor at the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation – Aswan Heart Center, and the first intensive care units in the entire governorate of Sohag at the Sohag University Hospital. The CIB Foundation has also funded over 40 eye exam caravans in public elementary schools across Egypt though the “6/6 Eye Exam Caravan” program.
