Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) honored the five winning groups of the “CIB: Battle of Games” competition and distributed monetary prizes in a special ceremony held on December 12th. The competition, launched in March 2016 in association with the German University in Cairo (GUC), aimed to encourage students’ digital solutions creativity by giving them the chance to develop games about different banking services and compete to win monetary awards.

For the past nine months, more than 20 students majoring in Media Engineering and Applied Arts worked hard, accepted the challenge and formed five groups to compete for the contest prizes, evidencing their creativity in producing and developing games as an application over Android and social media platforms using CIB products and services. The “CIB: Battle of Games” included three categories, the first was the “Battle of Digital Banking” for CIB digital banking channels, such as Smart Wallet, Internet Banking and ATMs. The second was the “Battle of Loans” focusing on developing games about the Bank’s different types of loans, while the last category “Battle of Cards” revolved around games developed based on the Bank’s cards. Throughout the competition period, CIB specialists supported the contestants through regular advising, collaboration and ongoing consultations, sharing the needed information about the Bank’s services and products for them to tailor the games accordingly.

This motivational, new of its kind contest reflects CIB’s digital banking strategy, being the leading private bank in Egypt that is not only offering distinctive bouquet of digital banking services and unique banking experience to customers, but it also supports young generations’ creativity in this regard. The CIB competition succeeded to create awareness about the banking services and digital solutions among students.
