Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) has been selected as the most socially responsible bank in North Africa in 2015 from The Banker Africa, in recognition of the firm commitment and distinctive activities of the CIB Foundation and the Bank's sustainable development initiatives that serve the Egyptian community. The award is given to the African bank which shows the greatest socially responsible practices through company policies and projects. CIB was chosen for this prestigious, international award after earning the highest votes of organizers of the third annual North Africa Banking Awards.

The Banker Africa award evidences the leading role of CIB as a major contributor to the development of the Egyptian community, as well as the CIB Foundation as the chief supporter and provider of quality health services across the country. Among the most recent activities of the Foundation, specifically during the third quarter of 2015, was a donation of EGP 3.82 million made to the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation to cover the costs associated with 50 children's open heart surgeries. Moreover, the Foundation's Board of Trustees approved three major projects, including the support for the Baladi Foundation for Health and Social Development in Aswan's specialized pediatric Glaucoma early detection and treatment center, the purchase of a highly specialized pediatric CT scanner for the National Cancer Institute's Department of Radiology, and the purchase of a pediatric catheter lab for the Ain Shams University Hospital's Cardiology Unit.

The CIB Foundation has also recently kick started the new phase of its "6/6 Eye Exam Caravans" program for the 2015-2016 academic year. During the period from October 2015 to March 2016, 36 caravans will be implemented, providing 18,000 students with free eyes exam and care in various governorates across Egypt, in collaboration with the Gozour Foundation for Development and Alnoor Magrabi Foundation.

Established in 2010 as a non-profit organization registered under number 588 for the year 2010 with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, the CIB Foundation is dedicated to enhancing health services for under privileged children in Egypt. Through the allocation of 1.5% of CIB's net annual profit, as well as contributions from CIB customers and employees, the Foundation makes valuable contributions in the area of child health through various multi-faceted initiatives, including renovating and upgrading hospital infrastructure, purchasing medical equipment, and providing surgical and medicinal treatment to underprivileged children.
