Required documents for opening a Savings Account:

  • Age 16 to 21 years old:A valid national ID & University ID only

CDs can be redeemed after six months, either partially or fully, if the time period ranges from 3-5 years. If the time period is under 3 years, it can be redeemed, either partially or entirely, after one year.
The minimum purchase amount of fixed interest rate for a CD is EGP 1,000 and its multiples, EGP 5,000 (with quarterly interest payments and multiples of EGP 1,000), or EGP 6,000 (with monthly interest payments and multiples of EGP 1,000) for the floating interest rate CD and with a minimum purchase amount of EGP 5,000 and its multiples for the cumulative interest rate CD.
For existing CIB customers, visit your nearest CIB branch with your valid national ID (for Egyptians) or your passport (for non-Egyptians). For non-CIB customers, open an account and book the CD or TD, as required.

Accounts and deposits results

  • Classic Saving Account: The minimum balance to open the account is EGP 20,000, or USD/GBP/EUR 1000.
  • Smart Saving Account: The minimum amount to open is EGP 100.Premium Savers Account: The minimum balance to open the account is EGP 20,000.
CIB wealth customers can receive a complimentary Wealth Platinum debit card at issuance.Plus customers can apply for CIB Titanium debit card.
Generally, yes. Obtaining a CD or TD with CIB will allow the bank to extend your credit of up to 95% of the value you put into the CD or TD, while leaving the CD and TD there earning interest. Now with CIB's Up-front Time Deposit, you can enjoy the benefit of collecting your interest the same day you book it. This service is available in the local currency only and is offered to both corporate and individual customers. This form of TD has tenors ranging from one week to one year. When receiving the interest up front, it can be redeemed partially or fully. This form of TD is non-renewable, unless used as security. If used as security, you can pledge up to 75% of the TD for the loan, overdraft, or credit card.
