You can add a new card or amend an existing one via your Online Banking account.

Online Banking (Mobile and Internet Banking)

  • Log into your Internet or Mobile Banking account.
  • Click the “Requests” tab.
  1. For Mobile Banking: Select "Other Requests" then "Manage Smart Wallet"
  2. For Internet Banking: Select: "Manage Smart Wallet'
  • Choose “Amend an Existing Wallet” from the application type.
  • Select the desired amendment (Add a card/remove a card/replace a card).
  • Enter the mobile number registered to your wallet.
  • Choose the amendment type.
  • Enter your National ID number.
  • Choose the CIB card type.
  • Enter the CIB card number, expiration date, and card name.
  • Click “Submit.”
  • Click “Confirm” once the confirmation message appears.

   

Note:

  • You can choose up to two CIB cards to link to your CIB Smart Wallet.
  • The requested card will replace any cards linked to your CIB Smart Wallet. Requesting to link a card that is already linked to another wallet will be rejected.
No, online cards can only be used online.
No, Online Card issuance fees are non-refundable.
Based on instructions we have received; the Bank is required to stop all foreign currency transactions through the Smart Wallet Online Card. Please note that local currency transactions through the Smart Wallet Online Card are working normally.
Yes, you can only use your online card on local websites (with local currency).
  • Single-use online cards will expire immediately after your first purchase or after 24 hours from the issuance date.
  • Multi-use online cards may be used for up to 3 transactions per month.
No, single-use online cards expire 24 hours after issuance.

You can issue an online card through your Smart Wallet. An online card (local currency) is a single-use or multi-use (upon your request), virtual card loaded with the desired amount of money to be used on any website or app.

Through the Smart Wallet app:

  • Select “Online Card.”
  • Select “Generate New Card.”
  • Enter the desired amount (in local currency) to assign to your card.
  • Enter your PIN.
You will be notified through the Smart Wallet app of the successful issuance, and you will be provided with the card’s details (card number, amount, expiry date, and CVC). Enter these details when purchasing items online. (local currency).
No, you can only issue one multi-use online card per month.
  • A single-use online card is a one-time card that will expire within 24 hours or upon making your first transaction on any local website (with local currency).
  • The multi-use online card can be used for up to 3 transactions a month. The multi-use online card will expire immediately after the month ends or immediately after the 3 transactions are executed.
You will not be able to use the card for online transactions after it expires. You will be asked to issue a new online card.
The card will be displayed once you select “Online Card” from the Smart Wallet homepage. Click on the card to retrieve the CVC.
The amount you request will not be deducted at the time the card is issued, but only when you make an online transaction, except for the card issuance fees mentioned above (EGP 10 for a single-use online card and EGP 15 for a multi-use online card) .

The Smart Wallet is free of charge. There are no monthly, annual, or maintenance fees for this service.

However, please keep in mind that there are separate fees for each transaction you make. For example, if you use your Smart Wallet to transfer money, issue online cards, and more, additional fees may apply.

You can request an online card with a limit of up to EGP 60,000 per day or EGP 200,000 per month. It can only be used on local websites and in local currency.
Please contact the Smart Wallet Customer Care line at 19716 and give them the online card number and transaction details. Our agents will take the necessary measures to resolve the problem.
The fees are non-refundable as per the Smart Wallet's policy. Additionally, all foreign currency transactions using the smart wallet online card have now been stopped. Please note that local currency transactions through the Smart Wallet Online Card are working normally.

CIB customers:

You can load your Smart Wallet using either of the following methods:

1. Link your CIB card to your Smart Wallet when you visit any CIB branch or via CIB’s Online Banking platforms: 

  • You can link any CIB debit, credit, or prepaid card to your Smart Wallet. CIB customers can register a maximum of two CIB cards per mobile number.
  • A CIB staff member will enter your Smart Wallet number and card details, and then insert an alias.
  • You can then select “My Cards” on the application.
  • Select the card that you wish to add money from.
  • Enter the desired amount.
  • Enter your PIN.
  • You will have successfully added money to your Smart Wallet.

Please note that the cost of loading the Wallet via Credit Card is 2% from the amount with a minimum of EGP 5, deducted from the Credit Card.

2. Transfer cash from your Online Banking account to your Smart Wallet:

  • Log into your Internet Banking or Mobile Banking account.
  • Go to the “Transfers” tab.
  • Select “Payments to Others”.
  • Select “Add New” to add your Smart Wallet as a beneficiary.
  • Select “Egypt” as the country, then select “Meeza Digital Network (Mobile Wallet Payments)” as the bank’s name.
  • In the beneficiary account field, insert the mobile number linked to your Smart Wallet.
  • Confirm payment and check your Smart Wallet balance.

 

Both CIB and non-CIB customers:

You can load your Smart Wallet using any of the following methods:

ATMs: Any ATM in Egypt that offers cardless services or has the “Meeza” digital logo

  • On the Smart Wallet app, tap “Deposit”
  • Tap “ATM Deposit”
  • Enter the deposit amount to generate the OTP
  • Enter the PIN to confirm the transaction
  • OTP will be generated
  • At the ATM, tap the “Cardless Services” tab on the ATM’s screen to start
  • Select “Smart Wallet”
  • Select “Deposit”
  • Enter your wallet number
  • Enter the OTP extracted from the app
  • Enter the amount you wish to deposit
  • A notification will be sent to confirm that the transaction was successful. You will also be able to check your balance

CIB Smart Wallet Banking Agent

  • Visit any CIB Smart Wallet agent.
  • Inform the agent that you need to make a cash deposit.
  • Provide the agent with your wallet number.
  • Give the agent the desired amount of money you wish to add to your wallet.
  • The agent will then select the “Smart Wallet” tab.
  • The agent will select “Deposit”.
  • The agent will enter your wallet number and the amount.
  • You will receive a notification on your mobile requesting confirmation.
  • Enter your mobile wallet PIN to confirm.
  • The POS will print two receipts.
  • You will receive a receipt detailing the transaction, and you will be able to check your wallet’s balance.
  • On your Smart Wallet app, issue an online card with your desired amount (local currency), making sure that the amount is available in your wallet.
  • At the checkout page of any local website or app, select the payment option “Cards or MasterCard”.
  • Enter the card details (card number, amount, expiry date, and CVC) at the checkout page to proceed with the payment.
The amount paid will be deducted from your wallet and the remaining amount will stay in your wallet. This applies to both single and multi-use online cards.
