Smart Wallet results

The fees are non-refundable as per the Smart Wallet's policy. Additionally, all foreign currency transactions using the smart wallet online card have now been stopped. Please note that local currency transactions through the Smart Wallet Online Card are working normally.
Please contact the Smart Wallet Customer Care line at 19716 and give them the online card number and transaction details. Our agents will take the necessary measures to resolve the problem.
  • Pay your internet, mobile, electricity, water, and gas bills through your Smart Wallet.
  • Recharge your mobile credit or anyone else’s from the telecommunications company of your choice (Vodafone, Etisalat, Orange, or WE).     
  •  Donate to any organization or charity found on CIB Smart Wallet.

Through the Smart Wallet application:

  • Select “Payments.”
  • Select your desired service and biller.
  • Enter the subscriber/reference number (or you can select the subscriber from your contact list).
  • Select the desired amount (if you’re recharging your phone credit) or select “Confirm” (if you’re paying a bill).
  • Enter your wallet PIN.
  • Your transaction is complete.
  •  A valid mobile number (registered with the applicant’s National ID).
  •  A valid National ID card.
Smart Wallet users can pay up to EGP 60,000 per day and EGP 200,000 per month.
  • Single-use online cards will expire immediately after your first purchase or after 24 hours from the issuance date.
  • Multi-use online cards may be used for up to 3 transactions per month.
No, single-use online cards expire 24 hours after issuance.
Yes, you can have up to three wallets linked to the same National ID card. Please keep in mind that you will need a different mobile number for each wallet.

The update will bring three new features/enhancements which are:

  1. Resetting the PIN via Smart Wallet App in case you forgot it or your wallet gets locked without the need to contact the call center.
  2. Displaying the receiver’s name before the execution of a money transfer transaction and on the transaction’s history to increase the level of security for our customers.
  3. Online Card disclaimers to provide customers with essential information about the types of Online Cards and the fees applied.
The amount will be credited back to your wallet.

CIB and non-CIB customers:

  • Visit your nearest CIB branch or Smart Wallet authorized agent.
  • Fill out a registration form.
  • The agent will process your data and enter it into the system.
  • You will then receive an SMS with a download link and an activation code.
  • Download the app from either the App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery.
  • Enter your registered mobile number and the activation code that was sent to you via SMS.
  • Create a six-digit PIN (should not include any repetitive or sequential numbers).

Your Smart Wallet will then be activated and ready to be used.

CIB Customers only:

  •  SMS channel
  •  Send your full National ID number in an SMS to 4435, followed by the last 4 digits of your CIB card and separated by a hashtag. Send the SMS from the mobile number you want to link to the  wallet. Example: 291234567890#1234.
  •  Within three working days, you will receive an SMS that contains a download link and an activation code.
  •  Download the app from either the App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery.
  •  Enter your registered mobile number and the activation code that was sent to you via SMS.
  •  Create a six-digit PIN (should not include any repetitive or sequential numbers).
  •  Your CIB card will be connected to your Smart Wallet within 7 working days.
  • Via CIB Internet and Mobile Banking channels:
  •  Log into your Internet or Mobile Banking account.
  •  Click on the “Requests” tab.
  •  For Mobile Banking: Select "Other Requests" then "Manage Smart Wallet"

            For Internet Banking: Select "Manage Smart Wallet"

  •  Choose “Open a CIB Wallet” from “Application type.”
  •  Enter your mobile number.
  •  Enter your National ID number.
  •  Enter your National ID expiration date.
  •  Choose CIB card type.
  •  Enter CIB card number, expiration date, and card name.
  •  Click “Submit.”
  •  Click “Confirm” when the confirmation message appears.
  •  You will receive an SMS that contains a download link and an activation code.
  •  Download the CIB Smart Wallet app from either the App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery.
  •  Enter your registered mobile number, read and accept the terms and conditions, then enter the activation code sent to you via SMS.
  •  Create a six-digit PIN.
  •  Your Smart Wallet will then be activated and ready to be used.
No, online cards can only be used online.

Use your wallet to perform any financial transaction, including deposit/withdrawal, bill payments, sending money, purchasing via QR code or issuing an Online Card.

*If you did not update your Smart Wallet app, please make sure to follow these steps to update it:

For Android/Huawei users:

  1. Delete the existing CIB Smart Wallet app from your phone
  2. Re-download the app from Google Play or Huawei AppGallery
  3.  Enter your mobile number that is registered to CIB Smart Wallet
  4. Enter the activation code you will receive on your phone in an SMS
  5. Set a new wallet PIN to log in

For iOS users:

  1. Open CIB Smart Wallet from the App Store
  2. Tap ‘Update’
  3. Enter your mobile number that is registered to CIB Smart Wallet
  4. Enter the activation code you will receive on your phone in an SMS
  5. Set a new wallet PIN to log in
The amount paid will be deducted from your wallet and the remaining amount will stay in your wallet. This applies to both single and multi-use online cards.
