CIB customers:

 

Link your CIB card to your Smart Wallet: 

  • You can link your CIB debit, credit or prepaid card to your Smart Wallet. CIB customers can register a maximum of two CIB cards for every mobile number.
  • CIB Staff will enter your Smart Wallet number and card details, and then insert Alias.
  • On your wallet, select Load Wallet.
  • Select the card that you wish to add money from.
  • Enter the desired amount.

Transfer from your Online Banking account to your Smart Wallet:

  • Touch the Cardless Services tab on the ATM’s screen to start.
  • Select Smart Wallet.
  • Choose Deposit.
  • Enter your wallet number.
  • Enter your wallet password.
  • Enter the amount you wish to deposit.

 A message will appear to confirm that the transaction was successful. You will also be able to check your balance.

CIB Smart Wallet Agent

  • Visit any CIB Smart Wallet agent.
  • Inform the agent that you need to make a deposit in cash.
  • Request a One Time Password (OTP) from within your Smart Wallet application by selecting “Agent Cash Deposit”.
  • Provide the agent with your wallet number and OTP.
  • Give the agent the desired amount of money you wish to add to your wallet.
  • The agent will select Smart Wallet.
  • Choose Cash In.
  • Enter the wallet number. Make sure to add “002” first, then your mobile number and the OTP.
  • Enter the amount you gave to the agent.
  • The POS will print two receipts.
  • You will receive a receipt detailing the transaction and you can check your wallet’s balance.
  • Enter your password. You have now successfully added money to your Smart Wallet.
  • Log in to your Internet Banking or Mobile Banking account.
  • Go to the Transfers tab.
  • Select Payments to Others.
  • Select Add New to add your Smart Wallet as a beneficiary.
  • Select Egypt as the country, then select the bank name: meeza Digital Network (Mobile Wallet Payments).
  • In the beneficiary account field, insert the mobile number linked to your Smart Wallet.
  • Confirm payment and check your Smart Wallet balance.

Both CIB and non-CIB customers:

You can choose to load your Smart Wallet from either:

ATMs: Any ATM in Egypt that offers cardless services or has the meeza Digital logo (cardless services)

  • Touch the Cardless Services tab on the ATM’s screen to start.
  • Select Smart Wallet.
  • Choose Deposit.
  • Enter your wallet number.
  • Enter your wallet password.
  • Enter the amount you wish to deposit.

When making a transfer, the application asks you to enter the mobile number twice. You will also view the transaction details and be asked to confirm before the transaction is processed. Once you confirm the transaction, CIB will not be able to reverse the transaction.

 

To return the money to your wallet, you will need to refer to the receiver’s wallet provider to return the money. The bank will not be required to return the funds.

Smart Wallet results

The transaction will be rejected.

No, the Online Card expires 24 hours after when it is issued.

 

You will not able to use the card for online transactions after it expires. You will be asked to issue a new Online Card.

 

Smart Wallet users can pay up to EGP 30,000 per day and EGP 100,000 per month.

The recipient should have an active mobile wallet.

  • On your Smart Wallet application, issue an online card with your desired amount, making sure that the amount is available on your wallet.
  • At the checkout page of any website or application worldwide, select the payment option Cards or MasterCard card.

The amount will be returned to your wallet.
Yes. For security reasons, if a customer enters a wrong password three consecutive times, the Wallet will be locked.If this happens, you will have to call the call center at 19716 to reset your password.

Both CIB and non-CIB customers:

  • Visit the nearest CIB branch or Smart Wallet agent.
  • Fill in a registration form.
  • The agent will process your data on the system.
  • Moments later, you will receive an SMS that contains a download link and an activation code.
  • Download the app from either Apple or Google Play stores.
  • Enter your registered mobile number, read and accept the Terms and Conditions, then enter the activation code that was sent to you via SMS.
  • Create your six-digit password.

     

    Your Smart Wallet is now activated and ready for transactions.

     

    CIB Customers only:

  • Send your full national ID number in an SMS to 4435, followed by the last 4 digits of your CIB card separated by a hashtag, using the mobile number you would like to register with the wallet. Example: 291234567890#1234.
  • Within three working days, you will receive an SMS that contains a download link and an activation code.
  • Download the app from either Apple or Google Play stores.
  • Enter your registered mobile number, read and accept the Terms and Conditions, then enter the activation code that is sent to you via SMS.
  • Create your six-digit password. The password should not include any repetitive or sequential numbers.
  • Your CIB Card will be linked to your Smart Wallet within 7 working days

Yes, make sure they have the meeza Digital logo and confirm that they accept QR payments.

You will have to deactivate one wallet first to be able to register to CIB Smart Wallet.

Contact the provider of the mobile wallet you’re registered at, asking them to deactivate the wallet. Once deactivated, you may re-apply and register to CIB Smart Wallet.

When you receive the notification, the merchant details will appear on the confirmation page.
Please contact the Smart Wallet Customer Care line at 19716, and give them the merchant number and transaction details. Our agents will take the necessary actions to resolve the problem.

The amount you request will not be deducted at the time the card is issued, but only when the customer performs the online transaction, except for the card issuance fees mentioned above (EGP 5).

The amount paid will be deducted from your wallet and the remaining amount will stay in your wallet.
