Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) is pleased to announce the launch of the “Celebrating the Arab Day Financial Inclusion Initiative under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt” from the 1st of April to the 30th of April 2025. The initiative aims to empower everyone to access the bank’s products and services designed to fit their lifestyle and secure their financial future.
The initiative offers the following products:
- Bedaya Savings Account
- Meeza Prepaid Card “Karty”
- CIB Smart Wallet
The benefits and features of each product:
1. Bedaya Savings Account
- Only a National ID is required to open the account
- Annual interest rate at 6.00%, with monthly interest payment frequency starting from EGP 1
- No minimum amount required and zero account opening fee
- No minimum balance
- Free debit card issuance
- Low Monthly subscription fees of EGP 5
- Offered to New-to-Bank Egyptian citizens only
- EGP 100 per visit in-branch fees on the following transactions:
- Cash deposit and cash withdrawal (except for account opening and closure)
- Internal and external transfers have additional fees (CBE instructions regarding fees exemptions to be considered)
- Credit card settlement regardless of the amount
- Defined limits:
- Daily debit transaction limit: EGP 60K
- Monthly debit transaction limit: EGP 200K
- Account balance limit: EGP 500K
- In case of a limit breach, the account will be suspended, and the customer will have to visit the branch to fill out a full KYC form and change the account type.
2. Meeza Prepaid Card “Karty”
- This card is the easiest and quickest Meeza card that can be issued, and it is available to Egyptian citizens only. Customers don’t need to have a bank account to apply. They can apply with a valid National ID.
- The card is an easy solution for transferring salaries and pensions with no minimum salary amount required.
- Flexible and easy-to-use: withdraw cash from ATMs, deposit/withdraw from any POS that enables cash deposit/withdrawal and make local purchases and e-commerce transactions in addition to depositing money through Insta Pay.
- Secure spending: The Meeza Card has an EGP60,000 daily spending limit and EGP 200,000 monthly Maximum Card Balance.
- You can transfer money from Meeza card through instapay
3. CIB Smart Wallet
- Send and receive money from your wallet to any other wallet in Egypt
- Pay all your bills (mobile, internet, landline, utility)
- Top up your mobile
- Donate to various organizations
- Issue online cards with your desired amount to be used for online purchases locally (Egyptian currency only).
- Purchase goods from any merchant that has the “Meeza” digital logo by scanning the merchant’s QR Code
- Deposit/withdraw cash to/from any ATM in Egypt that has the “Meeza” digital logo
- Deposit/withdraw cash to/from any authorized banking agent outlet

To register for the Smart Wallet:
Both CIB and non-CIB customers:
- Visit your nearest CIB branch or authorized banking agent to register for free. You can find the agents’ outlet addresses on the CIB Smart Wallet webpage.
Follow these steps to start using your wallet:
- Fill out the CIB Smart Wallet registration form. All you need is a valid National ID card and mobile number
- You will receive an SMS with an activation code and download link in an SMS
- Download the app from the App Store, Google Play or Huawei AppGallery
- Set your wallet password and you're good to go
CIB customers only:
1. Via SMS
- Send your full National ID number in an SMS to 4435, followed by the last 4 digits of your CIB card, separated by a hashtag. Use the mobile number you would like to link to the wallet. For example: 291234567890#1234
- Within three working days, you will receive an SMS with a download link and an activation code
- Download the app from the App Store, Google Play or Huawei AppGallery
- Enter your registered mobile number, read and accept the terms and conditions, then enter the activation code sent to you via SMS
- Create your six-digit PIN that should not include any repetitive or sequential numbers
- Your CIB card will be linked to your Smart Wallet within seven working days
2. Via the CIB Internet and Mobile Banking services:
- Log into your Internet or Mobile Banking account
- Click on the “Requests” tab
- Select “Manage Smart Wallet”
- Choose “Open a CIB Wallet” from the app type
- Enter your mobile number
- Enter your National ID number
- Enter your National ID’s expiration date
- Choose CIB card type
- Enter your CIB card number, expiration date and card name
- Click “Submit”
- Click “Confirm” when the confirmation message appears
- You will receive an SMS that contains a download link and an activation code
- Download the CIB Smart Wallet app from the App Store, Google Play or Huawei AppGallery
- Enter your registered mobile number, read and accept the terms and conditions, then enter the activation code sent to you via SMS
- Create a six-digit PIN that should not include any repetitive or sequential numbers
- Your Smart Wallet will then be activated and ready to be used
- Once your wallet is activated, visit any ATM in Egypt or authorized banking agent to load your wallet and start using it
- You do not need to have a CIB bank account to have a CIB Smart Wallet
- The mobile number used to register for your wallet should also be registered under your name.
